Day 21: Walking the Line Between Gratitude and Overwhelm: What It’s Like to Run a Job Search Coaching Business

Ever feel both intimidated and grateful at the same time? I’ve been feeling that lately…

It’s 8:25am on a Saturday. Since waking up at 8, I see a flash of my calendar every few minutes. Last week, I had calls with 6 people. Next week, I have 18. 4-5 calls, every afternoon, from Monday to Thursday. 

All of them are international people in Europe searching for their next job.

Honestly, I feel a little bit overwhelmed.

But as I sit on my couch, every time the image of my calendar comes up, I also think:

Damn, this is so cool.

• From a Russian marketer struggling to transition to agriculture…
• To a Filipino product owner re-entering the workforce after being out since 2010… 
• An Indian sales veteran facing rejections due to a lack specific industry experience…
• An Irish marketing executive reaching the final stages but getting passed over for locals… 
• And an emerging product manager from Korea applying for jobs in Germany for the first time.

Each story is unique, and I’m so honored they let me be a small part of their journey.

It’s going to be tough, but it is exactly the work I want to be doing right now ❤️
