Gemini in Google Workspace: A first look and initial thoughts

I just installed Gemini in my Google Workspace.

This is a first look and my initial thoughts.

Here's what it looks like on the sidebar of Google Slides:

In Google Slides, I asked it to name my framework, and it... created a slide!

Wow, didn't expect that. Interesting.

Gemini seems to take a lot longer than ChatGPT.

Asking it to create slides from my google doc:

"I am not able to create slides within Google Docs at this time." ☹️

It also couldn't create a nice image of my table...

However, I love having Gemini to chat with inside Google Docs.

It keeps me in flow and saves me time from having to open ChatGPT in another window (and potentially forgetting what I was trying to do).

Mainly because of the last reason, I'll be using Gemini (over ChatGPT) for now. Because all my data is in Google (docs, sheets, slides...), I'm excited for the productivity this will unlock.

I'm on a 14-day trial. I'll probably let it upgrade me to Gemini Business for €16 per user per month. It goes up to €23 after 3 months.

I'm new to really incorporating AI into my workflow. I'd love to learn from you: If you're a Google person, do you use Gemini or ChatGPT or something else? Why?
